Jasper's Witch!

JUST A NOTE FOR YOU WHILE I AM SHARING MY AVATAR WITH YOU... THIS IS WHAT SHOWS UP INSTEAD OF A PHOTO OF ME ON TWILIGHT MOMS.COM! IT WAS A GIFT FROM "SINGER" AND I JUST LOVE IT!!! And BTW - Just WHERE do I sign up to be a vampire? LOL Love to all!

Patika's thought of the day!

Well , ladies and germs... your very own Patika has been "living" over at the Twilight Moms website! Thought this "Maxine Moment" was just perfect, since TMs is all about Stephanie Meyer's vampires! I taught both of my sons that souls have NO age, NO color, and NO gender! Just wanted them to look inside of people for the good that you can usually find as opposed to "judging a book by its cover". Know what I mean, jelly bean? And really, if anyone would have no age... it would be a vampire -right? lol I hope that you have a great big beautiful day filled with just the right amount of laughter, tears, and gentle love that keeps your cauldren bubbling over throughout the day and into the night! Blessed full moon today!

Laughter really is the best medicine!

And my dear friends - THIS is freedom! Earth, Air, Fire (of the sun), Water, and the wonderful feeling of spirit! I often reflect upon the people in my life who truely love me and I them. At the top of the list has been and always will be Chance- my sons - my grandsons - my nieces - the 3 people I've spent major time with (K, R, & J)

Bedtime Stories for G.G.'s Boys #4

Once upon a time... Don't all of the really good bedtime stories begin with that? This is a true story and one that the two of you should know and remember. The picture with this story is of two very beautiful fairy houses. It is true and I personally know the wonderful lady who found them. If I understand the story correctly, no-one was living in them any longer because the two families had joined together and built a great big fairy castle! I'm pretty sure that I know where it is and I'll try getting a picture of that for you also. I know that people don't always believe in fairies when they get to be grown ups. So, believe while you can that two very happy families lived here not so very long ago. Usually around the third weekend of June, your G.G. puts out milk and honey for all of the hardworking fairies who live in her yard. Sometimes I am lucky enough to see one. My mind tells me that it is a bumblebee or a hummingbird, but my heart knows that once again... I've been blessed to have special tiny people with wings living near me and keeping watch over all of the flowers and plants and trees. Just because it's fun, I've always used tiny little tea sets to give them food and drink. And I always put something very shiny and sparkly beside it to catch their eyes. Fairies love that! Tonight I spoke with both of you. Blake - you are 4 right now and Luke- you are 2yrs old. You had pizza for lunch today and Blake picked off all of the pepperonis! And Luke, you told G.G. that you were watching the movie called ANTS. I never know whether to laugh or cry when I hear your sweet voices. You are a delight to me and I pray for each of you, your mommy, and your daddy every night. And tonight I got to tell each of you goodnight on the phone. Bless you boys and remember the fairies every time that you see a bunch of beautiful flowers growing happily anywhere!

Bedtime Story #3

This photo was taken this week here in Eureka Springs, AR. Michelle, who gets photog credit, said that it looked like a rainbow all in one cloud. I'm not a meteorologist. But I do believe in magic and in Magik. So, my darling little grandsons, G.G. thinks that she knows what this beautiful sky was. Wrap your thoughts around this... What if it is a picture of a guardian angel flying to help their special person? Do you know about Guardian Angels? Every person has at least three during their lifetime. They keep us from doing things where we might get hurt. They remind us of the truth in what our mommies and daddies have told us. They are the first one who sees one of us do a good deed for another person. They laugh with us. They try to soothe our boo-boos when we get them They wrap invisible, warm, loving arms around us when we are feeling sad. They never judge us. They have been known to draw straws when one has to ride shotgun with your G.G. - one with the shortest straw gets to ride along. They love to see us smile. So, if someone ever reads these bedtime stories to you, or when you are old enough to read then yourselves; please look at this beautiful sky in Eureka and know that your guardian angels truly love each of you just almost as much as I do. Nighty night.

Slacker - that's what I've been...

Hi folks! This really is Patika again. Thanks for not giving up on me. I know now that I still have a few things to say! Beltane was not celebrated in the traditional way here at the old homestead/apartment. Couldn't make myself go to Molly's Wake. Didn't want to 'feel' the people. Lame excuse - but true. I continue to honor her and my ancestors who have journeyed to the Summerland. Among other things, I watched the original "Wicker Man". Sheesh! Talk about pagan ideals gone wrong! This was the first one, not the remake. One of the beautiful things that said first movie got right was the young women jumping over a small fire - nude. These days the term is skyclad. Whatever. Anyway, the mainland officer complained that these girls were Nude! He was answered with, "Of course. You wouldn't want their clothing to catch them on fire, would you?". Please rent the movie and let me know what you think. Heck, make it a double feature and rent both old and new versions! Well, must put Butter to bed. She is quietly snoring in front of me. Blessings and Blessed be! Patika )0(

Second Bedtime Story for GG's Boys

Today is EARTH DAY 2009! It is a very special day for your GG. I am a stuborn old Taurus and my animal is the bull! That's right, a bull! I'm scared to pieces around bulls. That never kept your GG from riding in rodeos when I was a teenager. The sign of Taurus is the first Earth sign. I guess that might be why I used to love to take a book and a snack with me when I would go off walking in the woods for the day. Now boys, I don't claim to be very smart when it comes to the woods. Your Daddy knows a whole lot more than I ever will. But when I was just a little older than you two are now, I sure did love my walks. I remember there was one special hill that I almost always had my snack at. It was right on top of a hill where the pine trees sang beautiful songs to me. There was a small pond on top of that hill and sometimes I would catch and release what I called 'sunfish'. They were no bigger than your hand! After fishing for a short while, I would scoot my back up against one of those old pine trees and read my book... sometimes for hours. And I fell in love with the Earth during those walks. I loved to hear the voices of the birds and the occassional MOO of those big white cows up there with me. The squirrels in the trees would play tag. Once or twice I fell asleep up there. There were no houses to be seen from up there. I felt safe there. Alone, but with all of my friends of the forrest to keep me company. The fallen pine needles made a fine warm nest for me. I miss those days. So maybe, if you get the chance, you might tell our Earth that I love her still. Just nearly as much as I love both of you! Goodnight, Blessings of life to each of you! your very own GG...

#1 bedtime story for GG's boys

Once upon a time - long, long ago - there lived a little boy who had long bright blond curley hair. He lived a town beside a wonderful, clear river called the White River. GG never understood that because the river color was BLUE, not white. Anyway, when this little boy would get ready for bed each night, his Mommie (your GG) would lay down beside him and they would talk about what he had done that day. He had a scruffy little dog named Shamus, but everyone always called him Shamey. He and Shamey were always getting into mischeif. When sleep began to make his eyelids feel heavy, he and his Mommie would put everyone whom the little boy loved on "The Sleepytown Train". That train had a great big old engine that could climb the highest Ozark hills and wind around every curve with skill. That old train had a very special task, you see. It had to keep the little boy's loved ones safe from all harm until the bright morning sun of the coming day. And tonight, Blake and Luke, if you listen really hard...right before you go to sleep.. you may just hear the whistle blow on "The Sleepytown Train" as your Daddy gets ready to go to sleepytown himself... I love both of you. your GG

Irish Gaelic puppy name

The adorable/handsome puppy in this photo is Naoise Baby Bolls. Naoise is Irish gaelic and means Knight of the Earth! It is pronounced Nay' - C. He was born in Beaver Town. When I first brought him home, he was making all kinds of wierd sounds and crying a little. He reminded me a whole lot of the old Star Trek show called "The Trouble with Tribbles" as he was one round, solid fur ball! Naoise is very smart. His birthday is Feb. 28th. I swear that he talks human language and knows everything that is being said around him. As a baby, he sucked a pacifier - mostly at night. It was just like having an infant in the house if he lost that darn thing in the middle of the night. He cried until you found it for him. I hung bells on the front door to teach him to go outside. Now, he just jumps on that door until you take him out. When he is ready for bed... he waits for no-one! He is a very rare breed (read boo-boo breed). His mother was Peke and his father was Shitzu. Does that make him a Pekashitz? And on that note I shall close for this day. Oh, almost forgot... the large green blob sitting beside him is a tired me. Blessed be my friends. Priestess Patika )0(

Summerland

Last night , a wonderful friend passed through the veil. Her chosen name is Molly and she 'borrowed' it from her favorite grandmother. This woman has been a very important part of my life. She bought my very first robe for me! She loved cats and dogs, especially her dog, Woodrow. She named three of her dogs after characters in a Larry McMurty book. She loved to dance and watch others dnce and have fun! She taught me that it was ok to just be me and to hell with the rest of the world! Laugh - it's true! Before we became friends, I had no idea there were other authors out there who wrote paranormal romance besides Anne Rice. When Butter was only 7 weeks old, I snuck her into the bar that Molly owned just so she and Butter could meet. It was love at first lick/love/sight! We used to go out to Sunday Brunch every weekend and trade off who would pay. We always had eggs benedict and she would eat my orange garnish. I learned bits and pieces of her life as the weeks went by. She led a hard, but magical life! Once she was my date to the private women's party! Fab time! She cooked an incredible meal for me the night that I went over to her house to watch Avalon. I love her. She will always live on in my heart. Beltain plans are changing. May 1st is Molly's Wake. I'll be there. Tears and tales will be flowing as well as lots of laughter. She (& her bright, beautiful butterfly tattoo) will surely be with us in heart and spirit. Akasha, you are cherished. always, Patika )0(

Circle vs Coven

Had a friend and fellow member ask where our official Coven blog was. Silly me. I thought this was it! And so it is... The photo is our Ostara altar in the middle of my living room. There were 8 folks gathered around this as we called the quarters and talked about what this pagan holiday was all about. Our 'cakes & ale' table held lots of bunny rabbit stuff and I made cupcakes. We were also treated to a meal of cheese pasta with red wine sauce afterwards! Friends brought "what ever Spring means to you" and placed on altar. It was Fab! blessings, Patika )0(

Circle vs Coven

I was asked today where our "coven" blog was. Silly me, I thought this was it and plainly said so. The photo on this blog is my official Priestess Patika photo. It was taken almost 3yrs ago and when I see it, I just remember the serious pain that I was experiencing at that moment. I had just finished a Circle filled with folks from all walks of faith and I was also emotionally drained. Now, my beautiful people come to me and we have a wonderful time! We are already planning ourr Beltaine (Mayday) celebration. I teach as we go along. It is exciting! I feel whole as humans are meant to feel. Blessings! )0(

Celtic Women and Golf? Yep!

With a title such as "Celtic Women and Golf", perhaps I should explain meself. Fore if I aim to bring new lads and lassies to this very bog (I mean Blog!) - perchance twou'd be only right to provide a wee bit o' music to soften the blow of my mighty tales (or is it tales of Might?). An' we all be knowing where the very game of golf was invented. Aye, 'tis true, I meself am a right sturdy fan o' the Tiger! Broke my bloomin' heart, it did, when the little fellow came in sixth at Augusta! There not be a prejudice bone in me livin' body, but the fellow who won... well, I can't speak a word o' his language! An' don't that beat all - what with me lil' Tiger with a wife and 2 little ones to raise now. Ah, but give a listen if you will to those Celtic lassies an' they will bring both laughter an' a tear to your eye! Watch them every chance I get on PBS, I do. Now I'll not be swinging me driver on a par 3 anymore. Silly ol' back o' mine! But forever I'll have the memory of the birdie my 8 iron chipped right into the hole the very first time I was ever on the greens! Tis a fine memory to call it a night and go to bed thinkin' about. Goodight, Blessings be with you and yours, I love you. )0(

I am a Blogger

This is me and my friend, Michelle. She is EurekaChel since moving to AR. She and I were both having a good day when this photo was taken. It is outside of Cycle Gadjets.com. Hope I'm able to post this. My "command center" is going crazy tonight. What a hoot that I am supposed to fix the computers for the building! I know next to nothing. Even though it is late, I can hear the neighbors rambling around upstairs. Should be getting a phone call anytime that the web is down. Maybe not! Butter is curled up on the sofa waiting for me to carry her to bed. Blessings )0(

Potion for giggling

If this photo of yours truely doesn't cause you to giggle; perhaps you should just focus on blue pig in upper left hand cornor. I mean, really, he is quite harmless. This was during the March Full Moon. Had a great time! Apollo, black kitty cat, is a bit camera shy. He is our official coven/circle familiar. So far, Apollo is very "'familiar' with lots and lots of kitty food and loves all of the extra petting/attention. He sticks his little pink tongue out when he purrs! I am holding my athame into tiny cauldren. To direct left of my hand is "Holy"water made that night. P. Patika )0(

I love Chance! Don't you?

Wow! My very own blog! This is super exciting because my sister spent a great deal of time, effort and energy to create this for me... and YOU! I live in a tourist town in AR and I love it. There is never a dull moment around here! nope. This weekend is the UFO convention and we have 2 guys from Mufon here. This particular convention has been noted for folks who have experienced direct contact with ETs. I keep thinking (ok-hoping) that Whitley Striber will show up one year. Last weekend was a blast! It was Spring Diversity complete with a Saturday PDA (public display of affection) in Basin Park! Way fun to meet and greet until the hatemongers showed up. Our police drew a circle in chalk around where they could "preach" and made them stay in inside of it! Until next time... love, Patika )0(
